Matelasse fabric is French-inspired weaving technique that gives fabric a quilted or padded appearance. Matelass fabrics are achieved on a jacquard loom and are meant to mimic the style of hand stitching or quilting. The color registration shows a solid taupe color that could also be seen as the color turquoise.
